Reading Group - Sisterhood: Political Solidarity Among Women

RSVP HERE

As our chapter campaigns against Anti Abortion Clinics, we are focused on developing a better understanding of socialist feminism, and how we need to struggle against patriarchy in our fight for socialism. For our first collective reading since the launch of our campaign, we will be reading Sisterhood: Political Solidarity Among Women by Bell Hooks. If time allows we will also be reading the Combahee River Collective Statement as an example of some of a socialist feminist organization and how their conceptions align/differ from that described by Bell.

Please bring the text with you to the collective reading! You can download them both in the links above. You can bring them to the event on your phone/tablet or print them out ahead of time.

Together it's about 30 pages, so we'll read these all together and discuss! After the event we'll move over to a nearby bar for further discussion and general socializing. Look forward to seeing you there!
